Mercury speeds into the grounded earth sign of Taurus today.

Similar to his multifaceted nature, Mercury is complex and exhibits rulership over many affairs of both humans and the spiritual world. In mythology, Mercury, aka Hermes, was the the only deity who could move freely between the underworld, the earth, and the realm of the gods.

May 2012 - Mercury is in Taurus for only 17 days!

Having cleared his previous retrograde, Mercury moves speedily through Taurus – landing for his brief respite only from May 8th -May 24th. True to Taurean fashion, communications become deliberate and even formalized.

The Full Moon we experience this evening is a perigee ‘super moon’, closer to the earth than average.

Not only does this May Full Moon bring us to Wesak,  the traditional celebration of the life and enlightenment of Buddha, it also lands in the 15 – 16th  degree of Scorpio, a portal known as ‘the Gate of the Avatar’.

The Avatar gates are found in the middle degrees of each of the fixed signs; Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, and Scorpio. The term ‘Avatar’ implies a fully free soul, incarnating directly from God, and comes to earth to fulfill a highly spiritual task.

The symbology of 555 is a call for us to each become co-creators with Spirit. Five is a number of creativity, and manifesting form through play and intelligence. And, now that the Age of Aquarius has moved us beyond Saviors; we are all given the opportunity to save ourselves, and each other.The numerology of March 5, 2012, combined with our Scorpio Full Moon, lights up a significant gateway for empowerment and transformation.

March 5^th has been declared ‘World Liberation Day’ by some; this is an appropriate call for action to infuse the number 5 into our essence. Kabbalah teaches that the fifth cycle of creation embodies the World of Action, or the Fruit, of the Tree of Life. In keeping with the astrological sign of Scorpio, the number 5 is considered as the mediator between God and the universe; an institution of free will choice, and the process of creation.

Five is the numerical value of the Hebrew letter ‘HE’ representing the passive principle by excellence. (of Yah, He, Vav, He – the ‘I AM’ sequence that speaks thought into creation.) ‘HE’ represents “a solar ray of Universal Life pouring on the earth its beneficial rain of life.”  Manifestations of the Deity are expressed in five phases to form the Tree of Life:

1. Source or Seed–The Ain Soph Aur or Adam Kadmon

2. Root –World of Emanation of Atziluth

3. Tree –World of Creation or Briah

4. Branch –World of Formation or Yetzirah

5. Fruit –World of Action or Assiah

There are five oceans and five parts of the geographical world: Europe, Asia, Africa, America, Oceania. The five elements in Chinese theory are: water, fire, wood, metal, ground. Even computers get in on the action; millions of computers are running on Intel’s “Pentium Processor.”

The number 5 repeats often in the Human Body

The number 5 is of course, also found in several places on the human body: the five fingers of the hand and feet, the five senses (touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight), and the five members (two arms, two legs and the head.

The highest military rank a 5 star general, who wears 5, 5 pointed gold stars. So a “soldier,” or Sun warrior, wearing 5, 5pointed golden stars most certainly resonates strongly the male principle/energy.

Modern occultists believe 5 to be the Number of Death – this fits nicely with a Scorpio Moon. The greatest intensification of any number is its triplicate, making 555 literally “Highest Death.” Could this be why the highest military rank (5 star generals) wears 5, 5 pointed stars on their uniform? Also notable is the US Pentagon building which is formed of 5 concentric pentagons, with an inner court of exactly 5 acres.

Nearby, is the Washington Monument which is exactly 555 feet high.

The pentagram has long been believed to be a potent protection against evil, a symbol of conflict that shields the wearer and the home. The pentagram has five spiked wards and a womb shaped defensive, protective pentagon at the center.

But, it’s not really about evil; rather just the opposite! We are all Sun beings now, and we are meant to reclaim our innocence and to be free.  Embrace the energy of creation and protection that this celestial event delivers this evening. Remember, at Full Moon, you can observe the Moon rising in the east as the Sun sets in the West. Get out this evening, and partake of this amazing energy.

This month we have a dynamic full moon in Scorpio on the 5^th, and an energizing new moon Solar eclipse on the 20^th. The May Full Moon, also known as WESAK, signals an annual celebration of the life, enlightenment, and even the death of Buddha. All over the world festivals and celebrations are held to commemorate the life of the Buddha. This Full Moon is made all the more powerful by the nearness of the Moon to the earth – when the moon is perigee, or close to the earth, we feel the impact through our emotional state. The Full Moon of May 5^th is in the deep sign of Scorpio, so, hidden issues to come out and be revealed by the light of Luna.

Mercury leaves feisty Aries and settles into grounded Taurus on the 8^th. In Taurus, we can expect slow and deliberate communications – this may drive some people crazy, but, it also keeps things honest and relatively transparent. Pay attention on the 13^th when Mercury joins the planet of good luck, Jupiter – this is a time to expect, and receive some good news. Also, Mercury interacts with Mars on this day – this dynamic energy keeps the good things rolling along. On Monday the 14^th, Mercury then forms a favorable trine to Pluto – this time period of mid may should deliver some of the good things we hoped for and that were promised by the grand earth trine that occurred in March.

Mercury travels very quickly through Taurus and enters Gemini on the 24^th.  Mercury is then in the sign of his rulership – Gemini. The pace of everyday life will quicken, so take time to tie up loose ends so that you don’t feel as though you are on a never ending roller coaster by the end of May.

We also welcome a New Moon solar eclipse on the 20^th – again, in the 1^st degree of Gemini. Many people still have a fear or dread around eclipses. I enthusiastically encourage you to welcome the re-set that an eclipse brings. This one in Gemini is no exception – expect the unexpected, yes, but, also welcome the opportunities that come – and especially – pay attention to messages. Your deepest longings will be answered if you ask correctly. What we need at this time is truth – fact not fiction. As an air, or intellectual sign, Gemini prompts us to engage understanding and reality.

After a delicious weekend with the Taurus moon trine both Mars and Pluto,  the moon enters busy Gemini in the early hours of Tuesday. Things are a bit more active, and thus, more stressful as the Moon squares both Neptune and Mars today. This combo is about confronting mysteries, or, shall I say – secrets. If you want to get to the heart of any matter, today is a blessed day to get on it.

The moon square Neptune at 7:40 AM (Pacific time) is a message about cutting to the truth of any given matter. Think of Neptune as ‘illusions’ or ‘ dreams’, and the Gemini moon as the cosmic truth serum. When these two interact by a challenging square, the real story is bound to emerge. So, the storyteller becomes separated from his story!  The good news here is you emerge with clarity and the benefit of a picture that speaks a thousand words. Maybe it is not what you want to see, but, take a long hard look; the Moon square Mars in the early afternoon is your chance to confront the illusions, or, the storyteller.

Wednesday, is like a cosmic day off; the moon makes no major aspects nor do the planets. You can play it one of two ways – get busy and not be distracted; or – take a day off and do nothing. A day like this is tough because although it has an undercurrent of being innocuous, tomorrow always comes, and in this instance, the next day is ready to deliver a slam dunk.

I suggest you tie up loose ends, because, Thursday the 29^th arrives with call to action as the Sun squares Pluto. Are you ready? These two play for keeps, and so can you. Show up and put your best foot forward, because somebody is watching. Look sharp, and your life will deliver in amazing ways. The challenge of a Sun/Pluto square is a call to ferret out core issues; this takes us down to the ground and into the core matter of the Tree of Life. For those working on ascension, the Sun and Pluto works to re-wire your DNA. For those working at the office, Sun and Pluto bring changes in the corporate landscape. Appreciate your position as an enlightened observer and willing participant in the master game of life in earth in 2012.

March 2012 New Moon * Aries 2.22 / March 22^nd

The tables are now turned. Welcome to the days of talking lions and vegetarianism. Such is the nature of Uranus – the best way to describe Uranus is: expect the unexpected. Truly, the aspects for this lunation are quite astounding. The Moon joins Mercury at 4:50 AM (this on the heels of a Sun/Mercury conjunction Wednesday). Then, luna meets Uranus at 11:36 AM on Thursday the 22^nd, and then she squares Pluto in the evening hours.

The Sabian Symbol message for the Moon/Uranus degree (5 Aries)  of March 22^nd which is followed closely by a  Sun/Uranus conjunction of March 24^th   refers to a flying Yantra, and is a message of devotion, or bhakti; a practice of developing a personal relationship with the Divine. The wings elevate us to a new level of evolution, and the new dimension is mobilized. Yantra is the Sanskrit word for “instrument” or “machine, and it is used in Eastern mysticism to balance the mind, or focus it on spiritual concepts. The act of wearing or concentrating on a Yantra is held to have spiritual, astrological or magical benefits.

This powerful connection with Uranus and Mercury is an invitation to embrace personal change, but it’s also a signal that we now move ahead with catalytic social conversions for all of the earth. I am confident that this is a change for the better. Many events are unfolding that will bring about a positive transformation to our lives. Truly, old contracts have ended, and new ones are now to be fulfilled.

Mercury, now retrograde, is actually quite capable of granting good advice. Actions taken on or around the 21^st will most likely have been carefully considered and planned. And, it may take time, but you probably have a solid plan in place.  As he goes backward for a while, Mercury does re-enter Pisces from March 23 to April 17^th – OK – this is like the root canal stage. (Sorry – it’s going to get better.) Expect some solid news by April 22^nd (there’s that 22 again) when Mercury again joins Uranus.

With Jupiter and Venus standing by in grounded Taurus, this Mercury retrograde can be more about doing and less about running wild. Remember, the New Moon is about beginnings and initiation. Aries inspires us to channel courage. You have come so far, and now you must take it just one step beyond. Uranus exposes secrets, but, the secret to working with Uranus is expression and creativity. The stability of the Yantra actually provides a tool to maintain a grounded and productive state.
